Al-Shu’aibah Port

It is located at about 50 km to the south of Jeddah city. The historical sources say that Al-Shu’aib was the main port of the Arabian Peninsula before Islam. It was believed that the caliph Othman bin Affan – may God be pleased with him – in 26 AH / 616 CE had established the present sea port of Jeddah to receive the pilgrim caravans.
