It is one of the most popular dishes in the coastal cities. It consists of fish and rice and it is prepared by first shredding onions into equal pieces, then, they are sautéed in a large amount of oil over medium flame until they turn dark brown. Then, the fish is sautéed in the same oil. After wards some hot water is added along with spices and rice that will also gain brown color. Then the whole content is left to be cooked on a medium flame. Often, Al-Sayyadiah is served with other dishes like fish with sesame paste (Tahina) and fish kebabs.​
