Antiquities and Landmarks

The Al-Ahsa Oasis is filled with a number of archaeological sites and buildings dating back to the distant past, e.g., Jawatha Settlement, which dates back to the Qarmatians, Hazm Palace and the graves that can be seen in a number of places around the oasis. Pottery is prominent at most of the archaeological ruins found all around the Al-Ahsa Oasis, most of which are ornate utensils, usually soft in texture and the color of cloves  or toasted  biscuits.
Next, in terms of abundance, are thick black handmade utensils, usually smooth in texture, the Byzantine currency, and the green and blue glass utensils.
