The Castle is located in the Muwaisen farms (hence the name), about 15 km southwest of Sakaka. It is built using mud and rectangular stones on a hill about 15 m from the ground. It is believed to have been built during the early Islamic periods.  It consists of a range of rooms, with a central well. The Castle is surrounded by mountains and plantations giving it a picturesque aura.  The fundamental purpose of its construction was to provide protection to the surrounding areas.
